In successful cooperation with Hannu Pro - one of largest professional television and broadcast equipment suppliers to Latvian market - engineers, Latvian Independent Television company (LNT) has recently complemented its technical resource line-up with three Avid nonlinear editing systems. These systems will be used to satisfy news department needs for operative news editing.

Implementing Avid nonlinear editing for news selection, editing and mastering is the first step towards the introduction of a completely computerized, multi-user, on-line video and audio editing environment at Latvian Independent Television.

These automated editing systems significantly speed up work with news archives and news processing for broadcast. The Avid modular approach simplifies introduction of these systems, allowing a start-up with an affordable low cost system which can be chained to more sophisticated ones later. Avid systems have became an industry standard and all of them are fully compatible, providing a complete media editing workflow. They are also widely supported by other professional equipment manufacturers.
