Hannu Pro now offers new JVC professional HD monitors for really affordable price
Thanks to tight Hannu Pro cooperation with JVC new 24" and 20" JVC high performance professional monitors now are available to Latvian customers for really affordable price - just EUR 4300 (excl. taxes). The first DT-V24L1D units already have been delivered to the Klipu Filmu Darbnica and hospital Linezers. Both new monitor models are equipped with component and composite video inputs, as well as SD, HD SDI and DVI (HDCP) digital inputs, RS-232C and RS-485 control interfaces and excellent feature set. 24" monitor with the native support of full HD (W-UXGA - 1920x1080) resolution in Frame, Field and Cinema 24p modes is a perfect companion for the programme production, but the 20" model supporting W-SXGA - 1680x945 resolution ideally fits in to TV studio environment and is designed to be comfortably mounted into standard EIA 19" rack.

Fujinon offers new universal broadcast lens
In April at NAB 2007 show, which was attended by Hannu Pro engineers, Fujinon presented its latest development - XA88x8.8.BESM lens for SD and HD production. New lens with the focal length of 8.8-777mm is notable as the widest long lens available today equipped with patented Fujinon PFA (Precision Focus Assist) system. This ultra wide focal range and excellent performance in low light conditions with the light throughput assured by the apertures of 1.7-3.8 F makes this lens a perfect choice for the long-range close ups at large sports events, but unique Fujinon Go technology improves image resolution and reduces chromatic aberrations in all effective range. The lens is especially designed to provide quiet, smooth operation and advanced protection against dust and moisture while preserving compact size and reduced weight. Built in 32-bit RISC processor and DIGI POWER controls offer extensive, precise and convenient control functions.

Canopus offers the solution for AVCHD format file editing, new ProCoder version and EDIUS SP SDI 
Starting form February 2007 Canopus a Grass Valley company as the first and still the only offers the solution for the PC playback and editing of the AVCHD video - format developed by Panasonic and Sony. AVCHD use a special MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec, which is much more complex than traditionally used on HDV MPEG-2 based codec. The playback of AVCHD requires huge amount of processing power not yet available in today's desktops, therefore Canopus have developed a new technology to decode AVCHD files to industry leading Canopus HQ codec to enable playback on the PC with Windows Media Player and even editing with Canopus Edius.
Along with new AVCHD decoder Canopus now offers a new version of ultimate professional high-speed transcoding ProCoder software, which combines speed and flexibility and features extensive input/output options, advanced filtering, batch processing and an easy-to-use interface. New features of version 3.0 include: H.264 encoding/decoding, Canopus HQ encoding/decoding, AVCHD decoding, Multiple CPU MPEG-2 (Transport Stream) encoding.
Additionally Canopus has announced a new multiformat nonlinear editing platform EDIUS SP SDI, which uses PCI Express acceleration, is based on EDIUS Broadcast NLE software and delivers uncompromised editing quality on a standard PC platform. EDIUS SP SDI features broadcast quality SD SDI (with embedded audio), a breakout box for analogue audio IO, component video I/O, frame accurate RS-422 VTR control and ideally fits in to broadcast environments requiring realtime mixed format support for both tape-based and newer, non-tape forms of video recording and storage.

Canopus Edius NLE online training site
On January 2007, Grass Valley has opened a new internet site dedicated to the Canopus EDIUS 4 nonlinear editing system, video editing basics and workflow. In this site you will learn about the most important EDIUS features (key-framed color correction, nested timeline sequences, multi-camera editing, multi-format editing, time remap, sound editing, special effects, titles, advanced editing, ingest and video export), how to apply the techniques and achieve the desired effect. New site also features EDIUS reference materials, the downloadable trial version of EDIUS 4, the product upgrades for registered users and the information about compatible third party products.

Grass Valley successful story continues
At the end of year 2006 Grass Valley tor the third time has gained appreciation for its success in broadcast server market, where it has increased its share to 44.1%, thanks to K2 media server technology, new developments and overall commitment to the market. With over 1000 K2 media server units installed in the first nine months of introduction Grass Valley has earned the acknowledgement and received the 2006 North American Market Share Leadership Award from consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. The company has also closed the year 2006 delivering fully equipped cutting-edge high-definition outside broadcast (OB) van to China's Zhejiang's TV station as well as providing Viper FilmStream digital cinematography camera, which continues the Viper technology story (Collateral, Miami Vice and more), for David Fincher's next feature production, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but the Technicolor Network Services division in the December was awarded a long-term contract by ITV plc, UK's largest commercial broadcaster, to handle the broadcast and transmission operations for its six existing channels, including ITV1 the leading commercial channel in the country.

Grass Valley Indigo mixer now available
Grass Valley has started new Inogo studio mixer shipments to the European customers and the first Hannu Pro customers: nightclub Studio 69 and Siauliai Sports Arena is going to receive ordered units in the first week of 2007. Grass Valley Indigo mixer offers a great flexibility working with different video formats. It provides simultaneous SD and HD video combination from wide variety of sources: composite, S-video, IEEE 1394, SDI, DVI (PC video) and direct input from devices like Grass Valley Turbo iDDR. It also provides up-convert and down-convert between HD and SD to send new SD and/or HD signal for further processing, archiving or direct broadcast via composite, S-video, IEEE 1394, SDI, DVI (PC video) interfaces. Indigo mixer is loaded with many useful effects commonly found in broadcast video consoles: DVE, color correction, picture in picture, keying and 2D/3D transitions. Along with video processing Indigo offers also synchronous audio commutation and can be controlled automatically from remote device via RS-422, USB or 100Base-T Ethernet ports.

Grass Valley LDK-8000 broadcast camera hits the market
Grass Valley now offers to the market new LDK-8000 HD broadcast camera featuring 14-Bit A/D sampling, 24-Bit digital signal processing and full support for all today's HD video formats including 1080/50p and 60p thanks to the three 9 megapixel CCDs and Digital Pixel Management technology HD-DPM. The development of exciting LDK-8000 survived many challenges before the production and it is already available to the customers, while Grass Valley continues to innovate with advanced signal processing, packet-based fibre optic connectivity and imaging technologies. Being LDK-6000 successor LDK-8000 delivers a brighter, cleaner and sharper picture while sharing image characteristics with the LDK-6000, allowing them to be used together on productions. Similarly, the LDK-8000 uses the same industry standard triax and fibre connectivity as today's cameras, allowing them to be used with current installed and portable cables. The LDK-8000 development programme, though, includes an innovative new high bandwidth fibre system, which will unlock the full possibilities of fast progressive scanning and advanced super slow motion which are physically impossible on today's fibre and triax.
